East Providence Maintenance Facility
This $3.9 Million project consisted of the construction of a new 18,000 square ft. metal and masonry maintenance garage building with an office suite. The East Providence Maintenance Facility was built for the Rhode Island Department of Transportation (RIDOT) and included site utility improvements of water, gas, sewer, electric, lighting, telephone, and cable installations. Additionally, due to the site’s previous landfill use, significant site environmental management was required, such as groundwater and soil remediation, the installation of two underground water quality drainage detention systems, a surface pretreatment sediment detention basin, and project wide permanent active and passive environmental monitoring and venting systems. The work included the erection of modular structural retaining walls, site paving and preparation for a future salt storage building.
Turino assisted RIDOT with the construction of this facility by coordinating with the Contractor and developing their Baseline Schedule. In addition, Turino also monitored the project closely, performing contemporaneous schedule analysis, generating update reports and delay logs, and assessing and identifying delay responsibility and mitigation options.
