DBE Supportive Services

Turino provides Disadvantaged Business Enterprises (DBEs) Supportive Services to Department of Transportation’s (DOTs) across the country to assist in increasing the participation and performance of underutilized DBE, and emerging, marginalized and start-up businesses that are currently performing or have the potential to perform DOT work.

Many DBEs start their own business because they are experts in their trade, whether it’s laying sidewalks, erecting steel trusses, creating landscapes or driving trucks. They are skilled in their area of expertise but may need assistance managing and growing a business, including the bidding process, managing finances, building relationships with Primes, developing a business plan, marketing and so forth.

We develop, establish, maintain and monitor an electronic Business Development Assessment Program (BDAP) to initially determine and document a DBE’s strengths and weaknesses and to monitor their progress by providing hands-on training and technical assistance. Utilizing a secure web-based data management portal for the data management and reporting of the Supportive Services Program. This systems allows the team to administer DBE Capacity Assessments, analyze the overall program capacity, correlate needs to training curriculum, provide individual DBE Score Cards, provide on-line learning resources, as well as track and manage our level of effort and tasks in relationship to the individual DBEs.

Our all-encompassing experience has provided us unique insight into the challenges facing DBE clients. Turino brings over 18 years of hands on engineering, construction and systems experience. Our team blends both knowledge and expertise in transportation, government, education, marketing, finance and service to offer clients the finest consulting and professional services available.
