Apponaug Circulator

This project consisted of the reconstruction of centrally located roadways in and around the Warwick City Hall area between Apponaug Four Corners and Williams Corner. A new bypass roadway will reduce the traffic volume passing through the heart of historic Apponaug Village, thereby, creating potential redevelopment. Signalized intersections will be replaced with modern roundabouts designed to reduce vehicle speeds, maximize vehicle and pedestrian safety and improve the overall traffic flows. Turino created the 4D schedule to determine milestones, establish the contractual completion date, provide input within the development of the contract plans and specifications, as well as verify the quantity take-offs. Bids were submitted to RIDOT in April 2014, and the Contract was awarded to the lowest bidder, Cardi Corporation, for a total of $29.9 million.

Cardi began construction in July 2014 and is currently scheduled to complete the project on time and on budget in the fall of 2017. Turino assisted RIDOT with the ongoing schedule development process and utilized the 4D model to discuss logistics, utility coordination, and suggest sequencing with the project team. Turino monitored the project schedule throughout the project, and will continue to provide insight and support to RIDOT on potential issues until completion.
