John Hay Library Renovations
Turino was proud to assist in the $10 million renovation of Brown University’s John Hay Library. Turino oversaw the implementation of life and safety systems, and successfully monitored the building process of in-place mechanical systems. With Turino’s help, the Contractor was able to maintain a suitable environment for the historic collections while construction took place. The first floor of the library included renovations to the main reading rooms, and archives/ special collections reading room. Renovations to the gallery and exhibit halls, the construction of accessible toilets, and additions to the library services, including new, custom-fit windows were also added and monitored by our team.
Turino assisted the owner in completing this impressive project in less than a year. Our team provided a preconstruction baseline schedule review, analysis, and monthly construction schedule progress and performance reviews. Evaluation reports, including earned value analysis (EVA), were also provided. Additionally, Turino participated in Owner/Contractor monthly requisition reviews and progress status/issues meetings.
