Turino Group, located in Providence RI,  is looking for great lead for our BIM/VDC team for bridge, heavy highway and building projects. As local leaders in the virtual construction world, we are looking to grow with people who will be part of an organization that pushes the envelope of construction technology applications. We are looking for someone that understands that technology is a highly successful way to improve both communication and collaboration through the visual medium.

Our team utilizes 3D models in both preconstruction and construction while working directly with engineers, estimators, schedulers, superintendents, and project managers. Our project engineers and schedulers will use their expertise to the fullest with model information through: model-based estimating, constructability reviews, schedule activity analysis, 4D schedule simulations with schedule look aheads, actual work in place (AWIP) production trending, and 5D cost reporting. Specific tasks will include:

  • Manage BIM/VDC creation process on specific projects throughout preconstruction and construction
  • Develop and execute project specific BIM/VDC plans
  • Develop, manipulate, and maintain 3D models for specific projects for use during preconstruction and construction
  • Analyze and adjust for internal use in estimating and construction operations
  • Utilize models to support estimating and scheduling
  • Perform and document quantity take-off reports
  • Generate 3D/4D Site logistics plans
  • Create 4D visualizations to communicate schedule and sequence of work
  • Create/ Render virtual mockups
  • Create Presentation material/ visual aids
  • Utilize models to support construction operations
  • Work with data from various sources, including use of LiDAR
  • Support owner in recommending the best Virtual Design /BIM practices and optimizing

Turino provides excellent hands on training and growth within our company. Our team works on projects of varying stages of construction. You will work in our providence office, with frequent site visits to continue expanding your construction and scheduling knowledge. As Turino’s initiatives continue to grow, you will have the opportunity to work on projects ranging from $5M to $1B. Job Requirements are: 

  • Bachelors of Science Degree in Construction Management, Building Construction Science, or similar preferred
  • Three to five years of experience preferred
  • Working knowledge of AutoCAD, Civil 3D and Navisworks (or Synchro), is required
  • Understand the use of or working knowledge of LiDAR, Revit, RECAP, BIM 360 Glue, Synchro 4D, Primavera, and 3ds Max is a plus
  • Knowledge of construction, preferably as a contractor but as an A/E would be ok
  • Analytical skills to look at raw data and extract a conclusion of what it is telling you
  • People skills to allow you to interact with internal team and external customers
  • Problem Solving - Tackle both large scale/conceptual level and detail/task level problems
  • Adaptability - able to jump from project to project and stay abreast of all changes
  • Communication - must be able to discern the meaning of what other professionals are saying (and describing) and also present information in a way that can be thoroughly considered and understood (i.e.: translating a vision into a workable model)
